The Design of Fourth World Cup Stadium Revealed by Qatar
A new stadium for FIFA world cup 2022 has been planned in Qatar’s educational city with a seating capacity of 40,000 people. The Qatar’s education city is the home for Qatar Foundation for education, community development and science. This stadium is the fourth in Qatar Foundation System and the design for this stadium has been released by Supreme Committee for Delivery and legacy.
The structure and design of stadium is intended to reflect Islamic architecture. The interior and exterior of stadium will be dressed with translucent triangular panels. The triangular panels will shift their colors and patterns with the position of sun. Artificial illumination will also be able to shift the colors and patterns of panels which will reflect the happening of events in the stadium.
The stadium will be available for Qatar Foundation Students, teachers, faculty and employees for all year long to help the generations of Qatar residents to achieve their aims for staying fit. The stadium is cooled for the use of whole year. Surrounding precinct of the stadium will be provided with a large number of gymnasiums; clinics, aquatics centre and will offer the facilities for cycling, indoor surfing, and rock climbing and racquet sports.
After the 2022 FIFA world cup, the Qatar Stadium project and the health wellness zone will become sports, leisure and social hub. This stadium is also predicted to become a home for Qatar Women’s National Football Team. For these purposes the modular upper tier of stadium will be removed and could be relocated for use. After the removal of upper tier, the seating capacity of stadium will be reduced to 25,000 people.
The Qatar Foundation Stadium is fourth of the kinds of stadiums which are revealed for FIFA worldcup. The first three are Khalifa International Stadium, Al Bayt Stadium and Zaha Hadid Architect’s Al Wakrah Stadium. These stadiums are predicted to link with each other by modern transport network which will take the fans quickly to the destined venues.
