The Greenland tower Chengdu is under the process of construction. It is a 468 meter high crystalline skyscraper in the city of Chengdu, China. The building is designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture.

When the building will be completed, it will be the tallest building in southwestern China. Greenland tower Chengdu will surpass the already present buildings in Chengdu by 200 meters. The firm said that this tower will be multi- faceted and will be formed of glass. The tower is inspired by unique ice mountain topography around Chengdu. It is planned that the inset LED lights placed on the edges of multi- faceted tower when enlighten, will give the people an impression of sparkling glacier. Hence it is expected that the tower will act as light sculpture for the Chengdu city.

This project will be completed by 2018. Greenland Tower Chengdu is a part of a larger project which comprises of main tower, two small towers and a sixty story podium. According to next big future, the building will comprise of residential, retail and official spaces.

The firm states that the architecture and structure of tower marry perfectly. This design reflects the structural requirements of supertall buildings in a high seismic zone. It ensures the structural stability as well as the efficiency of system.
