Construction Week Awards 2014

This year’s construction week awards are planned at 10th December in JW Marriott Marquis Hotel in Dubai. The firms which are shortlisted for most categories of the year include ALEC, Atkins and WSP.

Out of a total 14 categories, ALEC is shortlisted for 6 categories of group companies’ initiative projects and individual projects. ALEC leads all other companies as it is also shortlisted for contractor of the year category and it has won this category award consecutively in past two years.

Atkins stands the second position as it has been shortlisted for 5 categories. The firm is expected to keep up the crown of consultant of the year since two of its project managers which are shortlisted for these awards have also won the awards in Saudi Arabia and Oman. Atkins is also nominated for the categories of engineer of the year and CSR initiative.

WSP is nominated for consultant of the year, engineer of the year, project manager of the year, sustainable initiative and sustainable project, making a total of five nominations.

Some other companies which have made up into multiple nominations include Arabian MEP with 3, Brookfield multiplex with 3, Carillion with 3, Omran with 4, Astad Project Management with 4 and Arabtec with 4 nominations.

Construction week awards are actually the show up of regional awards taking place in Qatar, Oman and KSA through all around the year. These awards are a highlight on construction calendar of the region.
