Populous is the winner of £90 Million Arena Design Competition

For designing of the UK’s most prolonged area, the fresh £90 million Bristol ground Populous has chosen. Ahead of IDOM, Grimshaw, Wilkinson Eyre and White Arkitekter are selected. The work will be done with Populous, BuroHapplod and Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios for realizing that they are winners for the crystalline venue.

Nicholas Reynolds Populous principal says that their design is unique for Bristol Arena. For 12000 fans a world class live concert venue is delivered by populous having seamless conversion for the atmosphere and 4000 seat amphitheater’s intimacy.

Reynolds added that the canvas will be provided by the adaptive facade that is defined that this is the building’s identity in the Bristol skyline and there is a transition between an ephemeral form in ay and dynamic event back dropped in the night.

Feilden Clegg Bradley’s Peter Clegg said that the railway and the River Avon has framed the arena which has designed for reflecting the Bristol’s city having proud heritage and history and created the iconic form in the city. It is responsive and respectful for the unique location. The surrounding buildings will be reflected by the masonry plinth base and then the arena will be allowed for continuously adapting for mirroring the changing face and city’s form by the upper form of the beautiful crystalline.
