2015 Mies van der Rohe Award - Nominated 420 Projects

Mies Van Der Rohe Awards are going to take place in 2015. European Commission and Fundacio Mies Van Der Rohe have selected a total of 420 projects to compete for the awards. Nominations of projects are from thirty six countries. Out of these countries the most nominated projects are from Spain. Out of 420 projects, 27% are related to housing, 24% are related to cultural facilities and 11% are education related projects. Rests of the 33% projects are from different niches and include urban, transport, governmental, sports and commercial projects.

Fundacio Mies Van Der Rohe awards were established by European Commission, European Union and European Parliament were established in 1987. These awards are considered to be the most powerful and prestigious awards for architecture in Europe. The prize announced in the awards is rewarded to projects which have been completed in past 2 years, biennially. Some of the previous winners of these awards are Harpa Concert hall And Conference Center which was designed and architected by Danish Architectural firm.

From 2014, these awards are also offering a new prize which is for emerging architects. This award is known as Young Talent Architecture Prize (YTAP). It is also expected that this year the jury will also have an included client who supports a high quality of architecture and commissioned projects. Selection of shortlisted and nominated projects is expected to take place by jury by the end of January 2015.
